The UP-94 mortality table was considered appropriate for expected mortality during 1994. At that time the projection scale AA was also developed to allow the UP-94 mortality table to be projected into the future to provide for expected mortality improvement. Two methods of mortality projection were considered. The first method involves the projection of the mortality table from 1994 to a current calendar year. The second method, which produces a generational mortality table, involves projection of the mortality table from 1994 to a current valuation year and then projection of an individual member's future mortality from the valuation year to the expected year of death based on the member's age in the valuation year.
I am enclosing a spreadsheet with 3 separate worksheets which project the UP-94 mortality table to year 2020, 2015 and 20xy. A 4th worksheet is used to produce a generational mortality table.
I am also enclosing links to 2 papers about the UP-94 mortality table.
